Programming Contest Experiences

It was July 14, 2012 and I participated the Programming Contest Eliminations. I’m not that really good in solving programming problems and so I didn’t make it. But it’s fine because I’m still in 2nd year at that time. I didn’t feel bad but rather I feel embarrass because out of 5 problems I didn’t able to answer even just one problem. Haha

Exploring Cebu!

This entry is so informal because I wrote it in tagalog-english, how I usually share experience to others. I hope I would have a time to edit or better translate it in a more formal way. This entry was written a year ago its like a diary in my personal computer.

A great experience to see cosplayers portraying anime characters, someday I would love to try cosplaying too.

Plus another unexpected happened was we had our lunch at Jollibee and the Pacquiao family went to eat there too. I had a chance to take a picture with Mrs. Jinky and one of his son.

NSTP Experience

One of the most exciting programs I had during my 1st year is through the National Service Training Program (NSTP). I enjoyed our Saturday sessions all throughout my year. The seminars conducted we’re very helpful in widening our knowledge about our role as a student in the community. The second part of the program during second semester our goal was to develop a certain community in Koronadal City our group was assigned at Prk. Bagong Silang.

Tree Planting, Gardening and Feeding Program

Tree Planting Advocacy

Being in a green university one of its advocacy was to establish a greener community and so every year the school conducts a tree planting activities where all the students of NDMU actively participates and here are the sneak peek of my tree planting experiences

RE102-Integration Program

Last September 25,2011 was our integration program at Baumol Elementary School, Pidtiguian.

It was such a meaningful experience for me because it is my first time participating activity like that; travelling so far in order to reach the said school, but in spite of that it’s all worth it through the experience like helping, feeding, entertaining and giving donations to the needy children. My heart melts as I saw them very eager to get food and wondering what’s kind of food is that especially the ‘mineral water.

Through this experience I realize that I need to be contented and thank Allah for bestowing me a life not perfect but satisfying. I learned that I need to give importance to whatever prepared food in the table I should put in my mind that not all people eat at those time and a food like that. I realize also that I need to thank my parents for working hard to uplift our lifestyle because without it I think I could be like those children.
But above all I was very glad that I belong to MWF 5:30-6:30 RE101 Class without them I can’t experience that. I wish I could go back there or participate more outreach program; I’m sure that would be a great experience again.

Higschool Graduation

NDSCT 59th Commencement Exercise

Theme: “A Partner towards Transformational Society an Answer to Society Change”

Graduating in highschool would be one of the greatest achievement of a student. Last March 25, 2010 is one of my most awaited moment, my highschool graduation.
Some of the graduates are very emotional but honestly I don’t feel emotional towards occasion like that. I’m very happy at that moment. I feel that all my effort and hard work has been paid off because I successfully graduated with honors J

Good bye Highschool! Hello College!

Throwback: Explore Davao

It was early morning on September 23, 2010 when we gathered at NDSCT St. Catherine’s Quadrangle to have our educational tour in Davao City. At around 6:30am we leave at Tacurong. After a long hours of travelling, we went first at MIC (Mary Immaculate Concepcion) Lodging House for us to rest and have our lunch break.

Then, we went to UIC( University of Immaculate Concepcion). The admission officer Mr. Charlie Ferrer gratefully welcomed us to their school. He proudly tour us to the distinctive area of the school and we had seen many stunning parts like their different kinds of laboratory including their laboratory apparatuses; the Information Technology area has many computers; they have a huge auditorium, I like their HRM building because they train students actually through their different rooms that looks like a real hotel and many more. We also had a short conference at their AVR together with their successful professors in pharmacy, information technology and medical technology. It was such huge school that we did not able to tour all around but hence it was a remarkable experience to us.

Our next stop is in Image World but before we went there we had our site seeing of different college schools such as Philippine Woman College of Davao, Davao Doctors College, Holy Cross of Davao College and San Pedro College. In the image world they also gratefully welcomed us because I saw their slogan in front of their shop ”WELCOME NDSCT students”. They present their factory to us on how to make a year book, calendars and other supplies; first they brought us to the Press Department where printing and cutting of papers were being done through their high-tech machines.  Then
we went on the Post- Press Department where the yearbooks were being bind. Next they brought us to the Pre Press Department where the lay outing was being done. Lastly we went on to the Digital Imaging Section where the digital making of a negative copy of the pages of a yearbook was being done.

After our tour in Image World we leave to pursue our next route. While we are on our way to People’s Park we had again our site seeing of college schools such as Ateneo De Davao University. When we arrived at People’s Park we had our dinner first together with my friends at BANOKS before we enter to the park. We had our picture taking there while touring around. And I enjoyed spending the time together with my friends even though we didn’t able to go to the Gaisano Mall because we’re out of time. We also bought some native bracelet as “pasalubong” and lightning yoyo toy for our own pleasure.   Around 7:30pm we leave the Park to go back at lodging house for us to have our rest.

The following day when we awaked we took a bath and breakfast first. Then we went to Shrine of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague. While we are touring around the Catholics student had their prayers first.  In shrine we visit the Catalina Garden that has an entrance fee of Php5.00 it’s Ok because it is worth it through seeing many lovely views. And I took a lot of pictures there.

Our next route is in Museo Dabawenyo. It’s quit awkward because we are not allowed to take pictures. In the museum I saw indigenous group’s statue, indigenous materials, historical background of Davao City, their collection of trophies and many more. I like also their exhibit at the second floor because of the impressive paintings especially the unusual and unique designs of filipiniana attire.

At last our most awaited part,...Malling!. After our excursion in Museum we went to the SM Mall of Davao. As usual, we had our lunch first before we had our malling with my friends.  Afterward we went to the National Bookstore and I bought some scrapbooking materials, then we went to the grocery to buy snacks. I felt frustrated because it was a [bitin]..we didn’t able to tour around and enjoyed the mall. It is against my expectation!

Around 12nn we leave SM to go home at Tacurong. It was again a very laborious trip. It was around 5pm , we arrived at NDSCT.

Even if it is just a short trip, indeed it was still a very significant event to me because it develops my social, spiritual, emotional, and mental aspects of my life. I developed my social aspect through socializing to my co-students. My spiritual aspect is developed through my prayers because we need God’s presence in order for us to be safe in our trip. I developed my emotional aspects through controlling my emotions away from my parents. Being away to my parents is very hard for me especially because I’m too close and dependent to them. My mental aspect is developed through being responsible to myself and to my things; and I need to be mentally equipped at that time to think quickly regarding about the circumstances that we may encounter. Through our educational tour it also helps me a lot in deciding regarding about my future to what school and what course I want to take to pursue my studies. Hence, our educational tour is a very important event of my life that I will cherished every moment that I experienced.

Throwback: A birthday to remember

It was my 15th birthday on June 17,2010. At this day my baby brother was still admitted in hospital due to illness. So I can’t celebrate my birthday with my family, unlike before. A day before that my friends already knew that I will be celebrating my birthday so they said that they want me to treat them. I ask money to my mother and my mother gave me 500, sufficient for the entrance fee of UPCAT. At that time my mother didn’t know that I’m in the middle of deciding wheather I will use the money to treat my friends or use it in UPCAT(eventhough they are not allowed me to do so).

Early in the morning my day starts with my normal routine,I took a bath, ate my breakfast and went  to school. While  at the school I remain silent trying to keep to the others  that it was not my birthday. But one of my close friend in highschool namely Melissa greeted me.As everybody knew that it was my birthday they greeted me also.

At noon I noticed some changes the way my close friends treat me they’re keep on avoiding and quarreling me. And I was confused why are they acting like that eventhough I can’t remember that I didn’t  done wrong to them. But eventhough they act that way I just endure them, thinking that they’re just joking  and I told them that I will treat them in the jollibee. When I was in jollibee with Almairah,Ceasarah and Rahima, I was confused again because Melissa , Zenaida and Lorenne is not around though they told me that they will go with me in the jollibee , Almairah told me that they had something to settle before they can go in jollibee. So I order food for us and we waited them. To my surprise when they arrived I saw Melissa holding a box. It was a box of cake!. I was very flattered that they contributed in order to bought me a birthday cake and I didn’t knew that. And I was right  that they are just really trying to joke the way they avoid and quarrel me. It was mixed emotions, I was very glad at that time thinking that eventhough I didn’t able to celebrate my birthday with my family and my brother was still in the hospital, my friends are there celebrating my birthday. I was very thankful having a group of friends like them in highschool. And I didn’t regret that I choose to use my money in treating them other than using it in UPCAT, ‘cause I’m not that sure wheather I can pass the entrace exam and study there. Through that it was one of my unforgettable experience during my highschool days. I will always  keep it in  my heart.

NDSCT: Drum corps Experiences

Probably one of the things that made my highschool extra exciting is being a member of my school’s drum corps club. I joined when I was in 2nd year as lyrist and through joining I gain skills, develop my confidence and gain more friends.

The first competition I have been part of is the Drumcorp Competition in Kalimudan Festival 2008. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the top. Then during the 2009 Tinalak Festival we also joined and we’re very fortunate because out of 10 schools we won 3rd place. After that we tried our luck and joined in the Kalimudan Festival 2009 and viola we won champion!

I have been part of the club until I’m in fourth year and we joined in Tinalak 2010 and we won 3rd place again. We joined the Kalimudan Festival 2010 and successfully defend our crown!

Highschool friendship

Indeed the friendship that was built during high school is the most memorable of all. The bond is very firm and I’m lucky to have those persons you can called barkada during highschool days.

When I was in 3rd year I had a barkada named CARLEMZ after our first name initials Ceasarah, Almairah, Rahima, Lorenne, Esnehara, Melissa and Zenaida.

The most firm friendship that I have was towards Almairah, Melissa and Lorenne. Our classmates called us “friends forever” because we’re always together in all the things that we do specially school projects. We understand and complement each other very well, we share all the crazy things we had done etc. Right now Melissa is an BS Accountancy student at Ateneo de Davao University, Lorenne is  a Pharmacy student at University of Immaculate Conception, Almairah, a Medical Technology student and me are studying  at Notre Dame of Marbel University. Though we were in different schools the friendship is still there and during vacations or breaks we get to see each other.

Throwback: Highschool Recollection

Recollection is silence…………this is one of the meaning of recollection what Fr. Deny taught to us.
It was early morning of October 8, 2010, when we the 4- St. Catherine of Siena class gathered at St. Catherine’s quadrangle to have our recollection at Mo. Francisca Spiritual Center, Lagao General Santos City. Around 8:45am we arrived at the spiritual center. We had our registration first, then we had our short orientation together with Sr.___(I forgot her name). At 10am we had our break and then we had our fist talk about recollection with Fr. Deny, our retreat master. He taught us a lot about retreat. After that we had our lunch and then rest for a while. At 2pm the Catholics had their rosary and then we continued to talk about life. At 3:30pm we had again our break and then we had our talk about love. At 5pm the Catholics had their mass and then we had our dinner.

At evening we had a very emotional activity, the washing of the feet. It was indeed a very important part of our recollection because that’s the time that we washed the feet of the person whom we had done wrong. It’s like a form of saying sorry to that person. After the said activity we went to our assigned room and prepared to sleep.

Dona Ross, Sisa, April and me(busy eating a snack)

Actually each room had two beds but me and Almairah didn’t sleep to our room we slept at Melissa and Loren’s room..haha…we’re scared eh…I really enjoyed their food there, maybe if I will stay there for one week I would be a PIG..haha

We had our malling at GAISANO MALL it’s my first time to go there and then we’re off to our hometown

I believe I was not born intellegent; I hope I won't sound bragging but I do excel academically simply because I'm responsible and hardworking with my duties as a student.

Good Friend

                                                                                                               Irrestible
